How do I find books put on course reserves?
Answer
Course reserves are textbooks and other materials placed on reserve at the library by a professor for a specific class. Students may borrow reserve items to use inside the library only for a two-hour period. To borrow a reserve item, bring the call number of the item to the Reserves Desk on the first floor of the library. To find the call number of a reserve item, you can look it up in OneSearch. The reserves catalog is accessible from the regular catalog by selecting "Course Reserves" on the top right of the drop-down menu. You must confirm that the item is available in Brooklyn Reserve.
Faculty may place an on-site reserve item using the Course Reserves Request Form. Items requested to be placed on Reserve may take up to two weeks to be processed from the time of request. If the Library does not have the required materials, or is unable to purchase the material, faculty members may place their personal copies on reserve.
