I am getting a Ph.D. in Music and am submitting both a written dissertation and a composition. How do I submit these two documents?

Answer

If you are submitting a composition with your dissertation, you'll need to create preliminary pages for each document and create two separate submissions for each. This will allow the composition title to be cataloged separately as a score. You should have a short abstract for the score as well. After you submit, the library will review both manuscripts and check for any necessary corrections. When the format is approved, the library will add a comment to the entry for each in that links the dissertation manuscript to the composition. If you’d like to see a recent example of what this will look like, view this dissertation manuscript and accompanying composition.
